What began as Pletcher's Foods featuring Paul's Quality Foods became Pierceton Foods in 1984 when the Wagoner Family took over. It wasn't long until they became known for their breaded cheeseburgers and the famous Penguin Point tenderloins that the northern Indiana community has loved for years. Unfortunately, with the closing of all Penguin Point locations at the end of 2023, many customers still believe the tenderloins lost. Almost a year later and we are still making them in house the same as we always have, and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
The Wagoner Family passed the torch to the Kneller Family in mid-October 2024. We plan on continuing the day-to-day operation of supplying everyone's favorite local restaurants with their favorite menu items, while adding additional options and making the business our own.
The Kneller Family has big plans for Pierceton Foods so you may notice some changes. No, we are not planning on discontinuing anything, rest assured your favorites will still be available. We plan on remodeling the front of the building into a retail space where you will be able to find all your current favorites and where you may just find some new ones.
In time you will be able to find a selection of top quality locally raised meats, some even from our own cattle farm. As we settle into Pierceton Foods, we also intend to work toward transitioning the pork tenderloins and breaded cheeseburgers that we produce to those same top quality locally raised meats.
